Who hasn’t dreamed of seeing their figure slim down without any physical activity? Almost everything! However, losing weight does not only require efforts at the level of your plate. Of course, if we pay attention to what we eat and adopt a low calorie diet, we will obviously lose weight. Apart from the fact that we will continue it later if we do not sustain the efforts over time (yo-yo effect), limited food alone is not enough.

In fact, it is possible to lose weight without exercise, but it is absolutely not recommended!When you practice a sport, or simply exert yourself, you increase your muscle mass. And the more you build your muscles, the more you increase your metabolism. This means that we consume more calories, even at rest”, explained Corinne Fernandez, dietitian-nutritionist in Paris.

On the other hand, if we don’t move, we may lose weight, but the silhouette will remain flabby and completely untoned. We can have less belly fat, of course. But usually, it will be soft! “Muscles are health, tone. And this is a combination of physical activity and a healthy and varied diet with the rule of eating a little of everything in small quantities. And this is how it is possible to get a good, curvy and toned silhouette”, promotes the specialist.

Moderate exercise is enough!

We can’t say it enough but physical activity doesn’t have to be high-level sport: 30 minutes a day of brisk walking accessible to all. You can also garden, walk your dog, do Zumba, Pilates, and more. The key is movement, which doesn’t mean you have to become a top athlete overnight, especially if you’re not used to it.

And if despite everything you don’t want to move, but still lose weight, you need to be more careful about your plate. No nibbling is allowed. Under the penalty of not seeing the weight reduction. Alcohol should also be banned. We will bet on starchy foods, but not more than 100 g per meal, just to avoid cravings during the day. But let’s repeat it: this way of feeding does not work miracles. For real efficiency, it’s better to wear your sneakers in addition!
