It is impossible to erase the pride of the smiles of the 32 students of the new AgroParisTech site, during the inauguration, on Wednesday, September 14, of the new building located in its corridors, rooms and labs, the new sector of cosmetology in the prestigious school. Called “Cosm’ethics”, it should allow students, who should be around a hundred by 2027, to design and produce sustainable cosmetics, removing agents from petrochemicals, while maintaining their high level in performance and technology.
In the heart of 1700 m², spread over 2 levels, state-of-the-art technology in skin biology, sensory analysis, process engineering, physico-chemistry, microbiology-biochemistry or even analytical chemistry. “A wonderful service tool in innovation, research and training, the winning triangle”welcomed Laurent Buisson, CEO of AgroParisTech, when cutting the traditional tricolor ribbon, before warmly thanking the community “for his decisive support”.
More than 13M € was put on the table of Métropole
Orléans Métropole acquired the former site of the innovation center in 2020 (€1.3 million) before it was renovated (€3.3 million, with the help of the Department of Loiret and State), and will continue to provide financial support (almost €9 million) in the new sector in the next few years. “The beginning of a new era, lined up with all smiles Florent Montilot, vice-president in charge especially of higher education. This type of establishment is lacking, and its installation here owes nothing to chance. It is a marriage, linked to the specificity of our territory, the heart of cosmetology, in the Cosmetic Valley”.
